About Oscar Hong

Oscar Hong is a first-generation Chinese American and a graduate of the University of Southern California, where he studied Computer Science and Business Administration. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Oscar carries with him a powerful legacy of resilience through his mother’s survival story as a refugee of the Vietnam War. His mother was born in China but fled with her family to Vietnam to escape the rise of communism. Unfortunately, the Vietnam War soon engulfed their new home. After the fall of Saigon and the takeover by North Vietnamese forces, Oscar's family was once again forced to flee. They snuck onto a boat in the dead of night, drifting for days across dangerous waters, encountering Soviet and Japanese patrols along the way. Starving and exhausted, they were eventually rescued and granted refuge in the United States, where they began their lives anew. Oscar’s story is one of generational perseverance, his success in tech and product management is a testament to his family's sacrifices and strength.
